Press Release Notes:

Seattle based Quadrillion creates pop music tumbled and nicked by its garage roots. In Los Angeles, Kidgusto spends most days stretching melodies over drums that pull out with the force of rays. Looking at these two from within the confines of genre, they have nothing in common: rock and dance separated by walls and years of sound. They are friends, though, former band members, too, and the products of Washington, DC's punk community. So when Quadrillion's Peter P. asked Gusto to remix "Jump Out," the group's first single from the More Mauling Power (like a Bear) EP, he was excited to do so, both as a favor for a friend and for the opportunity to remix a song that returned him to punk.

But Jump Out is more than punk. It is a song on a four day binge, sleepless and nervous, jangling with bloodshot energy. Guitars cut sharp, chords plod forward, and notes, too tense to be still, vibrate.  The lead vocal fills with a desperate, red-faced pressure. The bassline, which distorts and moves up and down in a drunken stumble, adds husk to the sharpness, a rhythmic wheeze that draws loosely around the melody. Electronic notes bleep in and out. Sounds bang against one another. Others bob, sometimes jerk. And as it peaks, it becomes both dance and punk, as appropriate for floors that bounce as it is for those that stomp and crash. It is raucous noise, but noise of the highest order: purposeful, designed and sustained, avoiding clutter and stretching out in the space between artists who work with with sounds not genres.

"Jump Out" is available on 7" Vinyl here at Groovedis.com, and will be available on I-Tunes and all major digital retailers shortly.
