Since he first began laying down percussion and trap kit rhythms
in 1989,
KidGusto has worked to help pioneer the DC sound through funk,
acid jazz, rare groove breaks and world beats. His musical path
has led him to work with various talented musicians, producers
and DJ''s introducing him to an eclectic array of styles and influences.
In turn this
has brought kg the versatility to be innovative and yet consistent
while DJ'ing in and out of the Washington DC area. As a musician,
DJ, and producer, KidGustos mission is to create organic
music that combines dancefloor-heavy beats with pure instrumental
emotion.
KidGusto - Get Em
Movin' Summer Chart '07
Originally hosted on NYCTrust.com
1. Zeph & Azeem remix EP. "That Type
of Music (DJ Enki Remix)" (OM 2007)
DJ Enki's second 12" appearance for that West Coast party
sound. A definite peak time pleaser that'll keep the crowd on
their feet. Good times.
2. Pitbull "Ay Chico" Dave Nada Remix (To Be Released
Hai Karate's Vol.4 Series)
You know what you're getting into when Dave Nada strikes, asses
shakin' and bodies movin. Drop at your discretion.
3. Moose "Other People's Booty (OPB)" (Unreleased)
Dancefloor approved. Moose's live blend of Bubba Sparks and Yin
Yang Twins 'Ms New Booty' with Naughty By Nature's 'OPP'. What
better track to bring in summer '07 than this! Play often.
4. Makossa and Megablast "Kunuaka" (G-Stone LP 2007)
Never disappointed with Makossa and Megablast. The gents first
full length LP filled with dubbed out beats and house floor uptempo
gems.
5. Greenwood Rhythm Coalition "Greenwood Rhythm Coalition
EP" (NYCTrust 2007)
This EP has a little bit of everything for all styles of kicks.
Thoroughly impressed on the versatility of this record. This one
will stay in the crates a long time.
6. Bambouche "Keep The Radio Rockin" from Spectacular
Vernacular LP (Vanguard Squad 2007)
A potent head nodder from the mysterious Bambouche of the Vanguard
Squad. Listen close for that mixing finesse.
7. Ed Solo & School Of Thought "When I Was A Youth"
(SuperCharged 2007)
Can't get enough of these ragga style big room breaks. Ed Solo
is definiely the man to look out for if you're looking to set
it off with them patchy low-end breaks.
8. U-Tern "Back To Trinidad" (2007)
From his debut EP, "Cookie Jar." Get ready for U-Tern
because dude is going to make heads roll with his production prowess.
This EP is strictly for them peak time bangers. All breaks, and
no brakes.
9. Bastard Boots Vol. 2 Rebel Crew Edition (2007)
Solid every track through. You can work these songs in on multiple
sets from latin breaks to that Kenny Dope Hip Hop/Reggae edits
stylee. Don't take this record out of your bag.
10. Chronic Sonata "Wise" (Tip Of The Iceberg 2007)
Best recommended for that blunted 3am house party when you got
the dancefloor in your palms and the next track you want to drop
is this.
